Bondurant Brothers Distillery

Bondurant Brothers Distillery is located in Chase City, Virginia, and was founded by Robert Bondurant, the grandson of legendary moonshiner Jack Bondurant (one of the three brothers depicted in the book and movie Lawless). The distillery serves as a legal continuation and “living history lesson” of the family’s deep roots in the distilling trade in Franklin County, Virginia.

Committed to simplicity and tradition, Robert uses a unique process that replicates the prohibition-era style: he utilizes a cold mash and ferments the spirit with a recipe of white corn, his own malted barley, and sugar. All spirits are crafted in small batches and pot-distilled using a steam-jacketed copper pot still. The distillery sources its water from a local Chase City spring, believing its quality contributes to the exceptional smoothness of their signature product, Bondurant Brothers Moonshine.
