More than a digital passport, the new Virginia Spirits app is being built as an interactive statewide spirits discovery platform featuring curated itineraries, distillery events, enhanced rewards and easier ways to explore Virginia’s craft spirits scene across the commonwealth.

Beginning July 1, the Passport will transition to a new app-based platform designed to create a smoother, more functional experience for exploring Virginia distilleries, earning points and discovering new destinations across the commonwealth. You can continue utilizing the current Passport until then. Users with 300 or more points as of July 1 will have their balances transferred to the new platform, so be sure to keep checking in and earning points before the transition.

We’re transitioning to a new app-based platform to provide a smoother, more functional experience for exploring Virginia distilleries, checking in, earning points and discovering new destinations across the commonwealth.
The users selected for our soft launch were pulled from our current active users. They have a better understanding of how our passport program works and will be able to provide the most useful feedback.
The new Virginia Spirits Passport app is expected to launch beginning July 1 for select users with an official launch on August 1, 2026. Additional information and download instructions will be shared once the app is live.
Yes. The new Passport experience will require downloading a new mobile app from the App Store or Google Play.
We will be transferring over any accounts that have 500+ points using the same email address associated with their current Passport account.
Accounts with 300 or more points will have their balances transferred to the new platform.
Accounts with fewer than 300 points will not have their balances transferred to the new platform. We encourage users to redeem any eligible rewards before the transition takes place, as remaining balances under 500 points will expire during the migration process.
Please use the same email address connected to your current Virginia Spirits Passport account to ensure your transferred points appear correctly.
Transferred points should appear shortly after creating and logging into your account using the same email address tied to your previous Passport account.
Prior check-in history will not transfer over to the new platform.
The current Passport platform may still remain accessible after July 1, however it will no longer be actively managed or updated by Virginia Spirits. Beginning July 1, all check-ins, point tracking and reward redemptions should be completed through the new Passport platform.
The new platform will continue to help users discover Virginia distilleries across the commonwealth. Additional features and updates will be announced soon.
