Classic Manhattan with Cherry Ice

Experience a sophisticated twist on a timeless favorite. The Classic Manhattan meets innovative chilling with Brandied Cherry Ice, slowly infusing the drink with subtle fruit notes. Crafted with Catoctin Creek Rye from Virginia and rich vermouth, this cocktail delivers a warm, complex, and spirit-forward flavor profile. Perfect for the discerning palate, it’s a wonderfully aromatic experience served in a chilled coupe.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Catoctin Creek Rye
  • 1 oz Cinzano Vermouth
  • 4 dashes House made dark bitters (or Angostura)
  • 3 Brandied Cherry Ice cubes

how to prepare

Prep: Chill your coupe or cocktail glass. Gather the rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, dark bitters, and the brandied cherry ice cubes.

Mix: Combine the rye, vermouth, and bitters in a mixing glass with a generous amount of fresh ice.

Stir: Stir the mixture until it is perfectly chilled and adequately diluted. Separately, place the brandied cherry ice cubes into the serving glass and gently muddle them.

Serve: Strain the chilled cocktail mixture directly over the muddled cherry ice in the chilled coupe glass.

Garnish: Finish the cocktail with an additional brandied cherry or a simple lemon peel express.
