Nose: Massive and rich stout base swimming in bourbon, accented by red wine with notes of molasses.
Palate: Rich and deadly sweet with notes of molasses, licorice, coffee cake, milk chocolate, and strong bourbon influence. Wine elements add a drying aspect.
Finish: Full-bodied with a soft roast and a long aftertaste of mocha-almond and rich port wine.
Neat: Serve at cellar temperature (50-55°F) in a snifter to allow the massive bourbon and red wine characteristics to fully develop.
On the Rocks: Not recommended; dilution will flatten the rich, thick texture of this imperial stout.
Cocktails: N/A (Beer), but it’s often enjoyed as a decadent dessert pairing.
