This event is exclusively for members of alcohol beverage industry. Virginia ABC regulations requires that all attendees register in advance. There is no cost to participate but you must register in advance to attend.

Special Session: Professional Development and Entrepreneurship in Bartending, by Beth Dixon

What are your next moves as a bar professional? We will discuss tools, resources and paths bartenders take in their next steps in their career beyond behind the stick.

Beth Dixon

Beth has been in the restaurant industry since 2001 leading bar programs at some of Richmond’s most prominent restaurants.  Beyond her hands-on bartending experience, Beth has become a respected figure in the Richmond cocktail scene. As the founder of Salt and Acid, she offers consulting, bar staff training, private bartending and mixology education. Beth has also served in many board roles in the Richmond Chapter of the US Bartender’s Guild.

Jeff Bloem

Jeff is the Founder of Murphy & Rude Malting Co., a 200-ton annual capacity craft malt house in Charlottesville, Virginia and currently serves as CGA’s board finance chair. Murphy & Rude Malting Co. has partnered with over 100 breweries, distilleries, and bakeries emphasizing these industries’ connection with Virginia agriculture. Murphy & Rude Malting’s direct work with Virginia grain growers and downstream craft beverage producers provides Jeff a unique perspective on the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities in stimulating a more localized supply chain.
