Dirty Earl

Experience the unexpected depth of the Dirty Earl, a sophisticated twist on the classic rum sour. Crafted with 8 Shires Warwick Silver Rum from the Commonwealth of Virginia and elevated by the fragrant, herbaceous whisper of fresh mint and the delicate, citrusy notes of Earl Grey tea. The perfect balance of bright lime, sweet honey, and aromatic brown sugar creates an incredibly refreshing and complex Virginia Rum cocktail, ideal for sipping on a warm afternoon.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz 8 Shires Warwick Silver Rum
  • ½ oz Brown Sugar
  • ½ oz Honey
  • ½ Lime Squeezed
  • Earl Grey Tea
  • Soda Water
  • 10 Mint Leaves – muddle and strain over ice

how to prepare

Prep: Gather the rum, sweeteners, lime, mint, and both chilled Earl Grey tea and soda water, then precisely measure the liquids and place the mint leaves into the cocktail shaker.

Mix: Gently muddle the fresh mint leaves to release their essential oils, followed by adding the silver rum, brown sugar, honey, and fresh-squeezed lime juice into the shaker.

Shake: Add ice to the shaker, securely seal it, and execute a brief, vigorous shake to chill and dilute the ingredients properly.

Serve: Double-strain the chilled mixture into a tall Collins glass filled with fresh ice, then top the drink by filling the remainder of the glass with equal parts of the chilled Earl Grey tea and soda water.

Garnish: Complete the experience by placing a crisp, fresh mint sprig into the glass alongside the ice.
