Southern Wind
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Isaac Bowman Port Finished Bourbon Whiskey
- 0.25 oz Savory Pecan Syrup
- 4 shakes Orange Bitters
- 1-2 sprays Honeysuckle Aromatic Spray
Preparation:
Combine Isaac Bowman Port Finished, syrup and bitters into a mixing glass. Add ice and stir until combined and chilled. Strain into a chilled rocks glass half-filled with ice. Use 1-2 spritzes of honeysuckle spray over the top of the glass. Garnish with caramelized lemon peel.
Savory Pecan Syrup: Toast chopped pecans in a large pan on low for 4 minutes. Remove the pecans from the pan and set aside. Add water & corn syrup to the pan. Heat on medium and stir until well blended. Add the toasted pecans, cloves & cinnamon sticks to the syrup. Heat on medium until simmering. Remove from heat and cover for at least 3 hours. Strain and store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Shelf life: 7 days
- 2 cups raw chopped pecans
- 10 oz water
- 12 oz dark corn syrup
- 4 whole cloves
- 2 sticks cinnamon
Honeysuckle Aromatic Spray: Bring water to boiling. Add honeybush tea bags and steep for 7 minutes. Add 3 oz. Deep Run Vodka. Stir and let come to room temperature. Add to atomizer (spray bottle).
