Caiseal Beer & Spirits Co. (pronounced cash-el), housed within The Vanguard Brewpub & Distillery—the historically registered Hampton National Guard Armory built in 1936—is Virginia’s first co-located brewery and distillery under one roof. Caiseal produces small-batch, award-winning craft spirits and beers, served to guests of The Vanguard alongside a full-service restaurant, live music venue, and event space.
The name “Caiseal” (Gaelic for “Stone Ring Fort”) reflects perseverance and pays homage to the historic building. The company operates a fully integrated facility, producing a diverse menu of craft beers alongside high-quality spirits, including several whiskeys (Bourbon and Single Malts), Gin, and Vodka, which are showcased in the brewpub’s offerings and sold in the on-site distillery store.
