Ingredients:
- 0.75 oz Trail Whiskey by Appalachian Heritage Distillery & Brewery
- 0.75 oz Italian-style aperitivo (like Aperol)
- 0.75 oz amaro (like Amaro nonino Quintessentia)
- 0.75 oz tarragon apple citrus shrub*
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds, then double strain into a chilled, stemmed cocktail glass, garnish with a dehydrated lemon wheel, and enjoy.
*Tarragon Apple Citrus Shrub
- 2 granny smith apples, shredded
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- zest of one lemon
- juice of one lemon
- handful tarragon, rinsed and finely chopped
In a 32 oz mason jar, combine all ingredients and refrigerate for four days, shaking daily. Strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, then refrigerate and use within six months.
